Leeds United fans will not be seeing James Trafford in the friendly against RB Leipzig this Saturday.

The Whites confirmed the arrival of their new goalkeeper earlier this week, who joined on a long-term deal from Manchester City.

Arriving for the cost of £45million, the 23-year-old has become one of the most expensive goalkeepers of all time, and so fans are eager to see him play.

Unfortunately, they will not be able to see him in action against RB Leipzig at Elland Road.

Daniel Farke has selected his side to face off against the Bundesliga outfit, with Alex Cairns starting the match from the off.

However, Trafford may be seen in a Leeds shirt very soon.

Trafford is not said to be at Elland Road either after Isaac Johnson, journalist for Leeds Live, shared an update through his X before kick-off.

The England international is set to start training with his new teammates on Tuesday, and will be ready for the trip to Dublin.

This means Leeds' game against Manchester United on Wednesday could be the first time that he plays for the Whites.

The Whites will take on the Red Devils at Croke Park in Dublin next week, with the friendly contest set to kick-off at 7.30 pm.

It will be another good test for Farke's men, who have already beaten top Premier League opposition this pre-season in Liverpool.

The Whites will then return to Elland Road for one final pre-season game against Ausburg on 15 August, before kicking off their new Premier League season against Nottingham Forest at the City Ground the week after.

The Belgian had a disappointing campaign last season, not getting the game time he will have wanted, but has a chance to impress the Elland Road crowd against the Bundesliga side.

With two more pre-season games against Man United and Ausburg to follow, it may be telling if Bornauw manages to keep his place in starting lineups.
