Victor Orta has enjoyed a number of rollercoaster years at Leeds United.

The Spaniard was often victimised for some of his transfers during the early years of his spell at Elland Road under Massimo Cellino.

That has since completely turned around, with Orta being at the heart of some record-breaking deals under the tenure of Marcelo Bielsa.

All of that success has seen Orta earn outside recognition, with Roma being linked with a move to fill their director of football spot.

Angus Kinnear all but confirmed those links recently but admitted that the Whites will not be letting their man go anywhere.

Gazzetta have shared an update on Roma's pursuit this week, claiming that the Serie A side have probed Orta over their vacancy.

Interestingly, the Italian outlet warned fans to "watch out" for Luis Campos, rather than Orta as he fits their agenda perfectly.

Campos has a residence close to Rome, and he would be able to be closer to the Italians - something they see as a vital component.

Andrea Radrizzani will be delighted with that update, as it could all but confirm that Orta will be remaining in West Yorkshire.

Orta has been a vital part of Leeds' success in the past two years, and his passion is contagious in the heart of everything done at Elland Road.

The report from Gazzetta claims that Roma want to fill their vacancy quickly, and that should rule out Orta, as it would take weeks of negotiations to pry him away from Leeds.
