Birmingham City are reportedly insisting that Leeds United target George Hall still has 18 months left on his contract amid interest in his services.

According to the Birmingham Mail, the Blues do not seem willing to do a deal for him in the January window.

While his lack of playing time is a concern, he could be bumped up the pecking order if either one of their loan players Hannibal Mejbri or Krystian Bielik ends up leaving.

The 18-year-old is an exceptionally talented player who does seem to be one of the best young players in the lower divisions.

He has continually been linked with a move not just to Leeds, but to other top-flight clubs as well and he does seem like someone who's eventually going to make the step up.

Leeds are leading the hunt to sign him according to the Sun's Alan Nixon and his lack of game time at St. Andrew's is encouraging for them.

Hall is someone worth taking the punt on even though he will not be a regular starter as he's a hot prospect for the future and will get better with time.

Speaking about Hall, Birmingham’s Under-18 coach Martyn Olorenshaw said in November 2021, “He is an attacking midfielder with an ability to create and score goals. He is explosive, dynamic and has the prowess to influence games.”

Leed desperately need someone for the long term who can prove to be a goal-scoring threat from the middle of the park.

Hall is showing that he ticks boxes in terms of his attributes and his quality will surely improve should he work under the right coaches.
