Alex Crook believes that Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers are two managers who could potentially replace Daniel Farke if he is sacked.

Farke is under immense pressure at Elland Road, with the Peacocks currently languishing in the relegation zone.

With Leeds facing a trip to Manchester City next, the job does not get any easier for the manager, with calls for the German to get sacked getting louder by the game.

As a result, questions are being asked about who could replace Farke if he were to be revealed of his duties, with Crook insisting that Postecoglou and Rodgers are in the mix.

Alex Crook: Ange Postecoglou and Brendan Rodgers could replace Daniel Farke

Rodgers has been linked with the Leeds post since he left Celtic earlier this season.

The former Liverpool manager has not taken charge of a club in England since he was sacked by Leicester in 2023.

Meanwhile, Postecoglou has been linked with Leeds since his departure from Tottenham in the summer.

  • Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham in the summer despite winning the Europa League
  • The manager then went to Nottingham Forest and last just 39 days
  • However, Postecoglou continues to be linked with Premier League jobs

Since then, the Australian has been appointed and sacked by Nottingham Forest after a dire reign where he failed to pick up a victory in eight matches.

Now, speaking on talkSPORT on 27 November, Crook believes that the two managers have the potential to take over Farke as he provides an update on his future.

He said: "The two names I'm hearing as potential successors... Ange Postecoglou. Whether he'd be so keen to jump into that job after being burned at Forest, I'm not so sure.

“And Rodgers, who is keen to return to management in the Premier League. So, one to keep an eye on, and I think there is some substance to the fact that Daniel Farke is under pressure.”

Daniel Farke remains confident he can keep Leeds up

The key goal for Leeds this season will be to stay in the Premier League.

Many pundits tipped the Peacocks to be relegated before a ball was kicked, and it would be some achievement if Farke is able to keep the Peacocks up.

Speaking before the Man City clash, the manager continued to back himself to achieve this amid the current mounting pressure.

He told BBC Sport on 27 November: "Of course, tough periods are coming, but we should be over the line once the season is finished.

"I'm fully convinced by this group. I'm a big believer in that you always get what you are willing to invest."
