We're delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he'll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United...

Paul Robinson has said that investment from QSI or even the 49ers group would represent a "huge coup" for Leeds and would improve the club on and off the field.

QSI seem to be the frontrunners to invest in Leeds if the club is promoted to the Premier League, with owner Andrea Radrizzani name-checking them in multiple interviews.

He said that he would look into taking investment in the club if promoted and had earlier said QSI investment could propel Leeds into the same league as Man City.

They're not the only interested party either – The Athletic journalist Phil Hay has said that a 49ers buy-out was "every bit as possible as QSI".

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, "You're talking about two huge multinational global companies. It's not the 49ers and PSG, you look at the other businesses that these two groups own. And the intelligence that comes with it.

"Any investment that comes from either of these two groups would be absolutely unbelievable. It would make Leeds better on and off the field.

"We've seen investments come from people who aren't necessarily football-related and we've seen how quickly things can go wrong.

"Talk about QSI and the 49ers franchise... You're dealing with serious sports business people who know how to handle massive global sports companies.

"A partnership with either of them would be a huge coup for Leeds United."

Leeds won't need to rush into taking investment, with promotion to the Premier League worth an estimated nine-figure sum.

However, according to football finance expert Kieran Maguire, Leeds have already spent a third of the £100m.

It's an exciting time to be a Leeds fan, though. And once promotion is secured, which could be as soon as Thursday, then the takeover/investment speculation is going to start up in earnest.
