We’re delighted to welcome former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at Leeds United

Paul Robinson has said that Marcelo Bielsa should axe Gjanni Alioski from the Leeds United XI to face Southampton this evening.

He said this was for his performances not because of his antics in the game against Burnley.

That FA investigation is now hanging over his head and it looks like he's leaving in the summer.

Talking exclusively to MOT Leeds News Robinson said, "Obviously, something has gone on, it was a childish petulant response.

"It's Burnley that have complained and it's not the sort of thing you want to see on the pitch.

"I've read contrasting reports that McNeil spat on him or Alioski said something to him but when you look at it, it's Burnley that have made the complaint.

"If McNeil had spat it would have come out but something's obviously been said.

"It's not something you want to see, whether it's a spitting incident or a racially aggravated incident."

Asked whether Marcelo Bielsa should take him out of the limelight tonight Robinson said, "I'm surprised Bielsa hasn't already taken Alioski out because of his performances.

"He put in a decent performance against Tottenham but that's been it for a while. He was subbed off at half-time against Brighton.

"I thought that would have been his last game for the club.

"He's stated his intention to leave and he's weak defensively. He should be taken out of the team, not for his antics but for his performances."

Leeds can secure a top-half finish with a win against Southampton tonight.

The game is live on Sky Sports with a 6pm kick-off.
