Stuart Pearce did not hold back with his views on who he believes cost Leeds United a point or more against Arsenal.

Leeds gave themselves a glorious shot of a rare win in this fixture when James Justin deservedly opened the scoring 10 minutes into the second half.

Daniel Farke's side were superb up to that point at Emirates Stadium and had Arsenal right where they wanted them.

However, a Riccardo Calafiori goal pretty much out of nowhere changed the mood entirely in North London.

So that proved as Bruno Guimaraes scored what proved to be the winner eight minutes later.

While Leeds can hold their heads high for pushing Arsenal all the way, there is still disappointment at what could have been.

Stuart Pearce rips into James Trafford for Arsenal error

Calafiori's goal really was a sucker-punch for Farke's men.

And in truth, it should have been prevented by James Trafford in the Leeds goal.

A deep cross was headed back across goal and turned in by the Arsenal defender from the edge of the six-yard box.

However, the shot was pretty much right at Trafford and the Leeds keeper got two hands to it.

Pearce described Trafford as "chocolate wrists" as he watched replays of the goal at Emirates Stadium on talkSPORT's live commentary.

He went on to say Trafford would be "very, very disappointed", even more so if Leeds did not take anything out of the game.

As we now know, they did indeed leave the capital empty handed.

How did Trafford perform overall vs Arsenal?

Trafford's passing accuracy was far too low and he made one error - not the Calafiori goal.

The England international did make four saves, registering a prevented goals tally of 0.96, but he will definitely be frustrated not to have kept out the equaliser.

If Trafford's wrists had been stronger, Leeds could have regrouped and who knows what would have been possible.

As it is, Farke's men have tasted defeat for the first time this season in the Premier League and must now regroup ahead of a huge showdown at home to Manchester United next weekend.
