Leeds United and Sunderland put together one of the worst Premier League games of the season so far on Sunday.

As Storm Boelo crashed into the United Kingdom over the weekend, it affected several games.

None more so than at the Stadium of Light, where both sides failed to show any real quality.

It was a goalless draw in the end, but the lack of chances on show proved just how painful of a watch it was.

Daniel Farke will take the point and clean sheet, but he'll know that Leeds will need to be miles better moving forward.

And with some of his players seemingly unhappy, it may need to happen quickly at Elland Road.

What was said about Leeds squad at Sunderland?

With three changes made due to injury, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was the one doubt to actually start.

That meant Lukas Nmecha had to settle for a place on the bench, again.

Nmecha wasn't brought on until the final minutes of the contest, despite Calvert-Lewin being nowhere near his best in the conditions.

And as he was shown live on Sky Sports coverage preparing to come on, main commentator Seb Hutchinson shared the latest rumours.

"There's been rumours about him being unhappy with the amount of minutes he's had," he said on Nmecha.

Well, he got very little chance to use that as motivation in the game.

Everything Daniel Farke has said about Lukas Nmecha as Leeds United exit rumours heat up

Who could Lukas Nmecha join in January?

Albeit only rumours, it's very little surprise that the striker may not be 100 per cent happy in LS11.

Like any player, he'll want to be starting every week, but that will never happen with Calvert-Lewin around.

Nmecha made a real impact last season either alongside him, or off the bench, but that just hasn't happened this time around.

To be fair, his minutes have gone down drastically.

So, with rumours starting, numerous clubs have been named, starting with FC Koln in Germany, opening the doors for a return to the Bundesliga.

On top of them, Wrexham have been linked from the summer and are said to still be in the conversation if a move is possible.

One thing working against Leeds is Nmecha's contract.

Running out at the end of this season, there feels like a non-existent chance of him signing a new one given him minutes.

With January the final chance to possibly bring in a fee, we could see Leeds and the 49ers forced into the market for a new striker.
