Andy Hinchcliffe was left fuming at Leeds United attacker Dan James after his "poor" attempt on goal in the first half of their Championship clash against Ipswich Town.

The Whites were looking to cut the gap between themselves and the Tractor Boys in the table to seven points when they faced off at Elland Road, winning 4-0 in the end.

Leeds took the lead inside eight minutes when Pascal Struijk nodded in from close range with an own goal, Crysencio Summerville and Joel Piroe strikes sealing the points.

However, before the goal, Leeds attacker James had a great chance for which he skewed his effort high and wide after being found in space in behind Ipswich left-back Leif Davis, and his decision left Sky Sports co-commentator Hinchcliffe fuming.

"It's a poor finish, he's got to go across goal", Hinchcliffe said live on Sky Sports commentary, (12:45 pm).

Got to do better

James has been in terrific form for Daniel Farke and Leeds United this season, scoring seven goals and registering four assists from 21 games in the Championship.

Such form has certainly allowed the Elland Road faithful to now expect the unbelievable from the ex-Manchester United man regularly after some stunning finishes so far this season.

Leeds United

The Welshman's pace was once his most telling attribute but this season, he's certainly taken his game to new heights under Farke's management with James not only a speed merchant but now a decisive outlet in the final third.

His four assists and seven goals certainly highlight a player brimming with confidence but the way he took his chance against Ipswich was of a player who was the polar opposite.

The Welshman was found in acres of space for the opportunity but showcased a total opposite of what he's shown all campaign but he certainly won't let the opportunity derail him and will certainly take his chance again when it comes his way.
