Sam Matterface was left thrilled by Leeds United star Mateusz Klich for Poland against Slovakia on Monday.

The midfielder was struggling in the first half of the EUROs opener in Russia, with Slovakia taking the lead.

Klich played an integral role in the equalising goal, and Matterface singled out his work on the ball at the edge of the area.

Speaking during ITV's live coverage of the clash on Monday evening, Matterface picked out Klich after the lightning start in the second half.

"It was a lovely touch from Klich," he said.

"They have set this second half up perfectly."

Leeds United

Shining.

Marcelo Bielsa handed Klich a second chance at Elland Road after he arrived, and he hasn't looked back since getting that opportunity.

Back in the Poland squad with his place in the starting XI cemented, it was a hard final half an hour in St Petersburg as they went down to 10-men.

Klich was tasked with sitting in the middle of the park and trying to keep hold of the point, and it was a tough afternoon.

Paulo Sousa has admitted his delight with Klich since taking charge of Poland, and their hopes of qualification could rely on the likes of the Whites midfielder behind Robert Lewandowski.

Klich thrives in the final third when he can get on the ball and flick smart little touches to create chances, something he did expertly.

It may have ended in defeat, but Klich was certainly one of the very few shining lights for the Poles.
