Roy Keane makes Patrick Bamford claim live on ITV

Roy Keane insisted that it would be brilliant to see Leeds United forward Patrick Bamford make his England debut.

The Three Lions were drawing at half-time in their clash with Hungary, and Gareth Southgate decided against making changes.

Keane claimed that it doesn't take any logic behind changes, and that Bamford is in brilliant form in the Premier League.

Speaking during live coverage on ITV, Keane was quizzed on which changes could make a different in Budapest.

"It would be nice to see Bamford get on," he said.

"He's in good form and sometimes there is no logic behind a substitution."

Harry Kane started and captained the Three Lions yet again, and his one huge chance through on goal went begging.

Many would believe that Bamford would have put that one away, and having a striker constantly on the last man will have helped this evening.

Kane drops far too deep, and the high pressing and fitness of Bamford could have been a real weapon for Southgate.

You know it is a sensible decision when Keane speaks out, he is never one to mince his words during live coverage.

As this happens, Bamford is yet to get on the pitch but with the game now at one goal to nil, it could be the perfect game to throw him into.
