It was over two years ago when Wolves were first linked with young Hartlepool defender Harrison Webster – now they're set to face competition for his signature from Leeds United.

The then 15-year-old was on the brink of the Hartlepool first-team despite his age but the move didn't materialise.

Now, Wolves are interested again according to Teamtalk but will face competition from Leeds.

The 17-year-old conducted a trial with Wolves last season but Teamtalk have now claimed that the youngster has been training with Leeds who they say are "big fans" of the youngster.

We don't know much about Webster, but he's a left-sided defender who has broken into the Hartlepool first team.

He came on for the second half in the game against Carlisle last September and the Hartlepool Mail said he "didn't put a foot wrong".

Leeds have a great record with young players and there's real synergy between the first-team and the Under-23s.

However, this season will have exacted a toll with all academy football now suspended and no restart for the youngsters at Leeds.

It means that any move for Webster could be put back until Thorp Arch is fully up and running again.

However, with Wolves having a long-term interest, Leeds might be tempted to move quicker without another chance to see him on trial.

For Webster, he might see the left-side of defence at Leeds as a big opportunity.
