Jamie Carragher was accused of bias by an Everton fan after Leeds United beat the Toffees 1-0 on Saturday night.

The game was shown live on Sky Sports and Carragher launched a passionate defence of his comments after saying that Leeds had deserved to win.

The Everton supporter tweeted, "Somebody is showing their bias tonight... wonder who @Carra23."

Carragher has an obvious allegiance with Liverpool but didn't take the comment lying down.

Instead, he doubled down on his critique saying, "You got battered it should’ve been 6-2, at no point in the game were you on top.

"You had 2 very good chances 1st half, one from a set piece the other when the Leeds defender made a mistake. Phillips ran the game from minute 1 to 90. If you don’t agree the bias is yours not mine!"

He then followed up by saying, "Oh, and your keeper was your MOM!"

The Everton fan replied saying "Wasn't really on about the game to be fair Jamie..."

He pointed to a line Carragher had made about Richarlison where he accused him of going down too easily.

Carragher wasn't having that, either, and again repeated his criticism of the Everton attacker.

Battered

Everton have been in brilliant form this season and have been touted as one of the surprise packages in the Premier League.

However, as Carragher said, they were "battered" in the game on Saturday and the result could and should have been a lot wider.

It was a masterclass from Kalvin Phillips, who will have impressed the watching Gareth Southgate.

Every time he picked the ball up you expected him to launch another Leeds attack.

And he broke up the Everton attack, which has been so devastating this season.

Leeds kept Richarlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin at bay all afternoon and fully deserved the three points.

Carragher knows it and everyone who watched the game on Saturday knows it.
