Largie Ramazani sent a message of support to Ethan Ampadu after Leeds United beat Stoke City 2-0 on Thursday.

The 23-year-old started the clash at Bet365 Stadium on the bench, watching on as the club captain led his side to all three points against the Potters on 26 December.

Joel Piroe netted twice as the Whites flew to the top of the Championship table, with Dan James notching an assist, and Ampadu's return to the starting XI has been a massive boost for Daniel Farke.

Reacting to Ampadu's Instagram post on Thursday [26 December], Ramazani wrote: "Boy, you are a player," with a clapping emoji.

Leeds United rise to Championship summit after Stoke City victory

With Burnley taking all three points away from Sheffield United at Bramall Lane, Leeds took their opportunity to shoot back to the top of the table by the scruff of the neck.

That is certainly one of the best Christmas presents supporters could have hoped for, albeit coming a day later on Boxing Day as the Championship erupted into life on Thursday.

With the most points in the division, the most goals scored by quite a margin, and even the third-lowest number of goals conceded, the Whites are in a brilliant position to secure automatic promotion.

Of course, clashes against Burnley and the Blades will be the true test for Farke's side, that is if they do not slip up to any other teams along the way.

Although the team have managed well without Ampadu and Ilia Gruev, with Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell filling in seamlessly, there is no denying how important it is to have the captain back playing.

There were fears at Elland Road after the Welshman was sidelined in September, but with injured stars beginning to filter back into the squad, Leeds are becoming stronger with each passing day.
