Premier League grant Leeds United request after latest announcement
Leeds United have learned their Premier League schedule for the upcoming season, with excitement high.
Daniel Farke worked his magic with that famous formation change at Elland Road, but now it's all about progression.
Leeds survived with relative ease in the end, as they look avoid the second-season syndrome that hits many.
The Premier League has finally been shaken up, with the Whites and Sunderland ending the trend of promoted teams being relegated.
Leeds won't face any of them straight away, though, with a trip to Nottingham Forest set to open their season.
Leeds make Premier League request
Those hoping for another opening day at Elland Road were ultimately left disappointed.
The Whites had to wait until the Monday to kick their season off last year, beating Everton 1-0 thanks to Lukas Nmecha.
Elland Road was rocking, but it was always the plan to start away from home this time around.
The Yorkshire Evening Post has reported that Leeds requested to the Premier League that they start away to allow extra time on the works at Elland Road.
Leeds have started their redevelopment works at the stadium, with demolition taking over in recent weeks.
How does Elland Road work affect games?
Starting on the West Stand, fans will fill that as usual once the Premier League season starts, with work continuing above them.
But, it is said that the stand should remain shut for any pre-season friendlies in LS11.
RB Leipzig are expected to be announced as opponents in West Yorkshire, with the Red Bull links clear.
Around that, Leeds will also tour the United States, as well as taking on Manchester United at Croke Park.
With a headline fixture against Leipzig lined up, the Whites are set to be more prepared than ever.
It's a shame the same can't be said for Elland Road, but it will all be worth it in the years to come as capacity increases.
With Brentford, Newcastle and Crystal Palace all at home in the first five fixtures, Leeds must get off to a positive start in the Premier League.
