Craig Short has labelled Leeds United as the "best" in the Championship while praising two particular areas of their game.

Leeds secured an emphatic 4-0 win against managerless Oxford after their shock sacking of Des Buckingham with Short taking temporary reign.

It was an impressive performance by all involved with Manor Solomon playing a starring role but Short was particularly impressed with two areas that Leeds excelled in while making a claim that will certainly go down well at Elland Road.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, as quoted by Leeds Live, Short admitted: "They’re (Leeds) the best by a long way. The athleticism and physicality is the big difference.”

Short comments make for good reading at Leeds United

Short isn't the first opposition boss to praise Leeds and it is highly unlikely that he will be the last as the Whites continue their surge for promotion.

In fact, it was only a couple of weeks ago that Paul Warne made a similar remark after his Derby County side were victims of defeat.

While the inside opinion holds value, opposition views provide a bigger perspective as to how well you are faring throughout the season and Short's comments showcase how well Daniel Farke's side are doing.

Despite not sitting at the summit of the Championship, Leeds have had an excellent campaign and for the large part, shown a good level of consistency which can often be crucial to any hopes of achieving promotion.

Their ability to wipe the floor with teams is what perhaps separates them from the teams around them who often have to rely on the occasional moment of quality to win a game and they certainly have every chance of a Premier League return.
