Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth got himself in a bit of a pickle when he asked Leeds United fans for their opinions on Lee Trundle.

Trundle spent just two months on loan at Leeds, making 10 appearances, and fans let Smyth know exactly what they thought of him.

And it wasn't complimentary.

Smyth's post attracted a response from Trundle himself who said it was sad that a journalist like Smyth was fishing for insults about a former Leeds player.

Smyth responded saying, "Knew nothing of your time at Leeds, asked for opinions on the back of an impressive highlight reel, hoping to dig something interesting out. In eight months I haven't quite managed to educate myself on every ex player. All the best, though."

Trundle then deleted his tweet.

However, on his own Twitter page, Trundle highlighted some of the issues that stopped him going on to make an impact in the game.

He said: "Never trained hard enough, going out too much. Not turning up pre season to name a few mate".

That verdict resonated with the Leeds fans – or the ones that remember his brief time with the club.

Here are the best reactions about Trundle's time at Elland Road...
