Leeds United have relaid their pitch after the club decided to implement a short-term fix with the Elland Road surface in a mess.

The real work will be done in the summer when the whole kit and caboodle gets replaced but in the meantime, Elland Road has a new surface that will hopefully bed-in in time for the next home game against Everton a week today.

The pitch was sourced from Premier League rivals Tottenham and went down over the weekend. It cost Leeds an eye-watering £300,000.

What do you get for that much money?

One Leeds fan tweeted a picture of the new pitch and it's left other supporters drooling.

It had to be done.

The pitch was awful in the game against Brighton when we lost 1-0 and the Leeds players were seen resorting to long balls.

It was heavy and was cutting up, and it didn't suit the Bielsa system at all.

By contrast, Leeds looked far more like the team we know and love in the first-half against Newcastle last night.

It's a lot of money to spend for a short-term fix but if it wins us points and helps keep us up, it will be worth every penny.

Plenty of Leeds fans are impressed, both with the speed that it's been laid and the quality of the surface.

And one fan hopes that it helps break the London curse that's plagued Leeds for far too long.

The rest of the fans were happy just to marvel at the look of the new Elland Road carpet.

Here are the best of the rest of the reactions to the new pitch...
