MOT View: Radical plan shows realistic way for EFL to complete season, would be huge Leeds boost

The Premier League has reportedly hatched a radical plan to ensure the remaining games of the season are played – and it could provide a huge boost for Leeds United if adopted by the EFL.

In an exclusive in the Sun, it's claimed that the plan is to play the remaining 92 fixtures behind closed doors and at neutral venues.

All games would be shown live on TV and the neutral venues would ensure that fans didn't flock to the stadiums and minimise the need for wider infrastructure.

It's said that two or three grounds would host the games, with the midlands the most likely location.

There's still a huge amount of speculation surrounding what will happen to the 19/20 season.

The EFL is set to hold a board meeting today to discuss plans.

We're at the stage now where we think that the best way for Leeds to get promoted is for the fixtures to be completed – no mater how and under what circumstances.

Of course, we'd love fans to be able to see Leeds get promoted but we're struggling to envisage a time in the near future when it will be safe for tens of thousands of people to be in the same place.

Given that, this sounds like a brilliant – if radical – plan to ensure games take place.

We hope that the EFL can show leadership and put forward a plan like this when it is safe to do so.

Public health is the most important thing in the wider world. Leeds getting promoted is the most important thing in the football world.

This plan would deal with both issues.
