Dave is a huge Leeds fan and ardent disciple of Bielsa ball. A career in print magazines that included editing PC Zone, launching PokerPlayer and redesigning The Big Issue has finally led Dave to writing about the love of his life, Leeds United. It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

Leeds United fans were hit with some exciting news about Rodrigo in Marcelo Bielsa's pre-match press conference.

After a week when Spanish outlet Fichajes reported (again) that Rodrigo wasn't happy at Leeds, the Spain international hit back on Instagram to say that story and others about him having a bad relationship with Bielsa were rubbish.

Rodrigo has suffered from injuries and Covid this season but Bielsa is convinced that he's ready to show his best again for his club.

Bielsa was asked, "Rodrigo has on social media affirmed his commitment to Leeds. He's had illness and injury this season, might we only see the best of him next season?"

Bielsa replied, "No, immediately he will be able to show all the resources that he has." [Leeds Live]

A fit Rodrigo makes Leeds better

This is a big declaration from Bielsa.

It could even signify that he'll start on Saturday against Sheffield United, although we expect him to be on the bench.

However, he'll be ready to make a big impact and prove his commitment to the club on the pitch.

He's been a big miss.

He might have had a stop-start season but when he's been at his best, Leeds have been at their best – like in the 3-0 win against Aston Villa.

Roberts has put in a couple of good shifts but doesn't have the penetration or the skillset of Rodrigo.

With each position in the Premier League worth a few million, there's still a lot to be played for and a fit Rodrigo can make a huge difference.

This is exciting news and we can't wait to see him back out on the pitch for Leeds.
