Michael Gray has gushed over Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville, describing him as "Premier League quality" during the 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers.

Daniel Farke's side made it seven games without defeat at Ewood Park on Saturday 9 December, thanks to goals either side of halftime from Daniel James and Summerville to remain third in the Championship.

While James' opening strike earned plenty of praise from pundits and supporters alike, it was Summerville's strike that received the most plaudits, as he chipped home.

Speaking on talkSPORT 2 (9 December, 14:02) he said: "That touch out of his feet is absolutely perfect.

"Brilliant play, superb goal. That Premier League quality that Leeds United have, came to the fore right there. Quality play to pick out Summerville but I have to say, he did have too much space when that ball came to him.

"Lovely little touch out of his feet, made the goalkeeper come and press and close him down. As soon as he hit the ground Summerville's mind was made up, it was a super finish."

Premier League quality

Leeds United supporters have had the joy of watching Summerville tear apart opposition defences and run riot on the left wing for the entirety of the Championship season so far and they don't need to be told that the Dutchman has Premier League-level ability.

His goal in the second half at Ewood Park was superb as he seemed to have all the time in the world but did not panic before lifting the ball over Leopold Wahlstedt with a finish that some of the Premier League's best players would have been proud to have scored.

To be promoted back to the Premier League, Farke was always going to need individual players to impress this season but few supporters would have expected that man to be Summerville. However, under the German's management, he has gone from strength to strength.

If he keeps up his recent form in front of goal, he can fire the Whites back to the top flight this season. But they will face a battle to keep him at Elland Road this January as big clubs will be chomping at the bit to bring his quality to the Premier League.
