Leeds United star Mateo Joseph is a readymade solution to a possible Spain Under-21 problem, according to Ignacio Camacho.

The 21-year-old striker netted for Santi Denia's side as they beat Denmark 2-1 at home in a friendly on Tuesday, 19 November.

Camacho branded Joseph "spectacular" and added that he has what it takes to become the main man for Denia, who saw his usual number nine Samu Aghehowa step up to the senior team during this international break.

"This time it was Diego López who assisted Mateo Joseph, who scrambled in the area to score his fifth goal in six games with La Rojita", the journalist wrote in Diario AS [19 November].

"His adaptation has been spectacular, as has [Dean] Huijsen's.

"If Samu [Aghehowa] settles in the first team, it will not be a problem for Denia because he has number nine guarantees in the Leeds player, who averages a goal every 45 minutes with Spain."

With Aghehowa establishing himself as Denia's first-choice striker, Joseph has often had to wait for his chance or come off the bench to make an impact.

However, whenever he has been given a chance, the Leeds ace has ensured he grabbed them with both hands and it was no different against Denmark.

Aghehowa had his first taste of senior international football on Monday [18 November], coming on as a substitute in Spain's 3-2 win against Switzerland and will definitely want more.

This should lead the door open for Joseph to make Spain Under-21s' number nine spot his own.

The striker made his debut for the national side against Slovakia in March this year and has since netted six goals in seven games.

Having netted against Denmark, he will return to Thorp Arch high on confidence. He will be hopeful that he will be rewarded with a start against Swansea City on Sunday [24 November].
