Match of the Day coverage on Leeds United simply embarrassing vs Arsenal
Leeds United were brilliant again as they were just pipped by champions Arsenal on Saturday.
The Premier League finally returned after the extended break with a trip to the Emirates for Daniel Farke and his men.
James Justin gave them the lead in the second half, too, but Mikel Arteta was able to call upon hundreds of millions pounds worth of reinforcements.
Riccardo Calafiori and Bruno Guimaraes ultimately scored, but Leeds left with their heads held high.
Arsenal were frustrated for large periods, and the travelling Whites also missed plenty of chances of their own.
Not that you'd know that at a quick glance at Match of the Day.
Premier League coverage is simply embarrassing
This is no surprise, and the so-called big six bias is very tiring.
Arsenal were rubbish for 70 minutes of this one, but Leeds made them play like, but you wouldn't know.
Match of the Day had Alan Shearer and Danny Murphy on their panel, alongside host Gabby Logan.
Shearer started the segment with this, "Leeds were brilliant," he said. "I think they made it really, really difficult for Arsenal."
Then followed hundreds of words and analysis on the Gunners being too slow, with Murphy being brought in to bore people about Declan Rice, someone who gets spoken about nearly every day.
Murphy finished his segment of analysis with three words on Leeds, it's somewhat embarrassing and not what fans want.
What should Match of the Day spoken about?
Of course, speaking about Arsenal isn't a crime, but not bringing in real analysis on both sides is criminal.
What is the point? You're losing half of your audience immediately.
Farke bossed Arteta for the majority of the game, and without his subs worth huge amounts of money, he'd have lost.
So, did Match of the Day look at how Leeds set up? How Jayden Bogle and Gabriel Gudmundsson were constant threats? Of course not.
Did they look at how Ethan Ampadu, Ao Tanaka and Anton Stach dominated the midfield battle? No, it was more boring drivel on Rice.
This is the issue with the Premier League, they force-feed you constant talk about clubs like Arsenal.
Nobody is bothered, they even spoke more about the Manchester City case than Leeds in this game before moving onto the next fixture.
If this is what we're getting, it's not worth the time or money.
