Marcos Abad has shared a statement as he has parted ways with Leeds United after a six-year stint at Elland Road under multiple managers.

There were reports that claimed he is going to leave after Daniel Farke was announced as the new Whites manager.

He then took to Twitter to confirm that himself as he shared a statement and thanked the people who made his time at the club special.

LUFC Youth’s Twitter account claimed that under-21s head coach Paco Gallardo had left the club while analyst Jordan Davies took to Twitter to confirm he's left.

Top coach

Abad worked as a goalkeeping coach at Leeds and is understood to be well liked among the players for his hands-on approach.

He certainly was responsible for giving a young Illan Meslier the confidence to become a ball-playing goalkeeper and deal with the pressure of playing in the Premier League.

The Frenchman was relatively good and only appeared to fall off towards the back end of the season which saw the Whites getting relegated.

It remains to be seen what Farke's plan is and whether he'll be turning to one of his old clubs to bring in someone to do that role.

It certainly is an important position to fill and he'll undoubtedly want someone who's able to coach the ball-playing and sweeping part of the game as well.

Whether or not Meslier stays remains to be seen but a year in the Championship as his first choice may do wonders to his confidence.
