Manor Solomon has to justify Daniel Farke's faith after bizarre Leeds United comments

Manor Solomon risks falling down the pecking order at Leeds United if he doesn't repay the latest faith shown in him by Daniel Farke.

The Israeli winger looked off the pace once more after replacing Daniel James in the 73rd minute of the 0-0 draw at Bristol City on 26 October and is still yet to truly ignite his career at Elland Road.

Solomon set up a goal for Mateo Joseph on his Whites debut against Hull in August, but repeated injury issues have hampered his progress since, leading Farke to come to the 25-year-old's defence.

As per Leeds Live (28 October), Farke said post-match: “Sometimes like a bottle of ketchup, you shake it and you want it too much and all of a sudden it happens.

"When he first came he played with so much confidence, rhythm – then the injury.

"It was a sucker punch for him. He worked so hard to come back and the feeling is of course he can't be there with 100 per cent, he needs a bit of time."

Leeds United need more from Manor Solomon

Solomon has already had injury troubles since arriving at Elland Road, but returned to fitness over the international break and has failed to make anything close to the impact expected of him.

Three fairly pedestrian displays against Sheffield United, Watford and Bristol City haven't helped Solomon's bid to take the injured Largie Ramazani's place in the starting XI.

James, by contrast, was the Whites' most dangerous player at Ashton Gate, to the extent that Farke's decision to substitute the winger for Solomon took Darren Bent by surprise [TalkSPORT, 26 October].

Ramazani's injury opens a door that Solomon needs to try and force his way through, with his current performance levels well below that of James, who himself had been in the treatment room since August.

United are no strangers to sending loan players back to Tottenham early – just ask Djed Spence – and if Farke wants Solomon's form to flow like ketchup, it's now up to the winger to shake things up.
