Sam Allardyce has confirmed Leeds United will be without four first-team players for the visit of Newcastle this weekend at Elland Road.

Captain Liam Cooper is joined on the sidelines by Stuart Dallas, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra for the game, but Max Wober and Patrick Bamford are fit for the game.

Allardyce was asked about the chances of players returning any time soon, and he revealed that they are hopeful Cooper could return next weekend against West Ham.

"My injuries are Liam Cooper, Stuart Dallas, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra," he said. "That's not bad. Just four."

"We think so that he'll [Cooper] be fit for next week. The squad at Leeds in general is quite light in terms of numbers."

Attack

Leeds are in a position where absolutely need to get points under any circumstances, and that means we have to score goals.

Obviously defensively the team isn't strong right now and we're conceding far too many goals, but the balance of the team is badly effected when we try to close up shop and just not concede.

We lose that quality we have in attack and are still leaking goals, so maybe the answer is to go on the front foot and try to score as many goals as possible.

Newcastle are a team who won't want to lose because they're chasing the Champions League, which means they may be a little bit more open at the back and prone to a counter-attack.

Having a full array of attacking options barring Sinisterra means we can go for it, while our defensive issues mean the boss has no reason not to back his forwards to do their job.
