Harry Gray has yet to score for Sheffield Wednesday since joining on loan from Leeds United.

The 18-year-old is regarded as one of the Whites' most important talents, and his development path is key.

That's why it was decided that Hillsborough was the best place for him to go, with Henrik Pedersen keen to work with and help youngsters grow.

Daniel Farke has been vocal about how he wishes the best for Gray away from Elland Road, in his first full season not in LS11.

The striker already had his first experience in League One last season, joining Rotherham United on loan for the second half of the campaign.

But how have local media reacted to Gray's latest performance away from Leeds?

Sheffield Wednesday are aiming to get promoted straight back to the Championship after suffering relegation last term, partly due to an 18-point deduction.

The Owls signed several promotion winners to help Pedersen out, balancing the squad with some youthful additions, like Gray.

But the teenager has yet to grab a goal or an assist for his new side, as he played in his side's dramatic 2-2 draw away at Huddersfield on Saturday.

The Owls were two down in the 87th minute before an own goal and a penalty from Jamal Lowe deep into stoppage time earned them a point.

BBC Radio Sheffield's Rob Staton claimed Gray was "hugging" the touchline far too much throughout.

Confused at the attacking setup, he asked: "What is this formation?"

The Wednesday Word stated that Gray started out wide in the hope that the Owls' "youth exuberance" would help them, only to explain how their attack didn't click for the majority of the game.

The Leeds loanee was "scythed" down by Archie Collins in the 26th minute, and subsequently received a booking.

The only effort that the Thorp Arch product had didn't trouble the Huddersfield goalkeeper, either.

Finally, the Yorkshire Post handed Gray a 6/10 rating, writing: "First league start since 20 August. Hinted at things, but without the end product."

Gray is clearly going to have to learn the hard way, but perhaps these experiences will shape him into the player that Leeds hope he will become.

Where is Gray currently excelling for Sheffield Wednesday?

Gray appears to be utilised on either flank for Sheffield Wednesday right now, with Pedersen opting for more experienced number nine options.

While this may suppress the youngster's ability to get shots off, he is learning a new role, and other areas of his game are improving.

Notably his dribbling ability, as he currently boasts an average of 1.47 completed dribbles per match, which is on the positive end of the spectrum for other players in his position in League One.

Gray also wins 57 per cent of his duels, making an average of 2.35 tackles per game.

It's important to note that he's still only played 307 minutes in the league so far, but continued starts will only help him develop.
