Manchester City loanee Liam Delap has sent a three-word message to Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell.

It comes after the latter netted his first England Under-21s goal, scoring in the 3-2 defeat to Ukraine on Monday (16 October).

The Whites centre-back played the entire 90 minutes of the European qualifier, with current Hull City man Delap appearing from the bench.

Taking to social media after the match, Cresswell posted on Instagram: “Not the result we wanted but good to get my first 21s goal.”

Among those replying to the social media post was his England Under-21s teammate Delap commenting: “What a player.”

Bright futures

Both Cresswell and Delap have very bright futures ahead, both for club and country, even if the centre-back is struggling to break into the Leeds starting XI.

That is simply because he is at a very early stage of his career, and also because Whites boss Daniel Farke has relied heavily upon Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk in central defence thus far.

But the youngster has impressed when given the chance, with more opportunities to start definitely arising in the near future given the packed fixture list that Leeds must contend with.

Also looking to impress in the Championship this season is young forward Delap, who is currently on loan at Hull from Premier League giants Manchester City.

He has certainly shone at times under Pep Guardiola, but the manager clearly believes that the player can still improve, with the Championship seemingly the best place for that to happen at this moment in time.
