Daniel Farke has transformed Leeds United in the space of one week.

Farke was destined for the sack at Elland Road, but a monumental seven days against the biggest sides in the Premier League have changed everything.

Leeds started with a 3-2 defeat at Manchester City, before beating Chelsea and securing a dramatic draw with Liverpool at Elland Road.

With January fast approaching, the 49ers Enterprises and Paraag Marathe could reward Farke for his successful turnaround in LS11.

'Leeds expected to spend in January'

Dan Plumley believes that the positive turn in results will have an impact on January spending at Leeds, with Farke expected to be backed.

The football finance expert did admit, however, that even sacking Farke would have led to that, with any new manager wanting new signings.

"Yes, it will have an influence on January spending," Plumley exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

"It would have done either way in truth, as any new manager would have probably wanted to bring in some new players anyway.

"The league position, as much as anything, will dictate what happens in January, so I would expect Leeds to spend a bit of money.

"The reality is that Wolves look gone, so you are then looking around you and working out what you think everyone else is going to do as well."

Who could Leeds sign?

As mentioned, Leeds have made an approach to sign Mulligan, the Hibernian midfielder who has been compared to John McGinn already.

On top of that, Martin Baturina is also liked at Elland Road, another midfielder, potentially showing where Farke wants more depth.

Most fans would want more attacking depth, but with Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha forming a new physical partnership, the flair players such as Noah Okafor and Willy Gnonto could now rotate centrally.

Either way, Leeds are set to be very busy as they look to maintain their Premier League status under Farke, with the opportunity to stretch the gap to the bottom three coming up against Brentford, Crystal Palace and Sunderland before 2026 arrives.
