Leeds United came from behind to earn a point against rivals Manchester United on Sunday.

Bryan Mbeumo's first-half goal put the visitors ahead at Elland Road, before Dominic Calvert-Lewin netted his fourth goal of the season in the 51st minute.

Going into the game, Leeds were the favourites after Man United's horrible start to the campaign.

And the events on the pitch showcased just why many were backing the Whites to win, with Daniel Farke's men bossing the possession and looking more likely to score than Michael Carrick's side.

However, none will be complaining too much about the result, despite Leeds' wait for a first home win against Man United in 24 years extending for what could be another 12 months.

Here, MOT Leeds News takes a deep dive into the overall and player stats in Leeds' draw against Man United.

What were the stats for Leeds vs Man United?

Stats by Sofascore show that Leeds had 61 per cent possession compared to Man United's 39 per cent, while Farke's side completed 530 passes against the visitors' 345.

However, despite dominating the time on the ball and the passing game, Leeds couldn't conjure up more attempts at goal.

Carrick saw his men have 13 shots at goal, forcing three saves from James Trafford.

Leeds has 12 shots, leading to two saves by Senne Lammens.

Despite the Red Devils having more shots, both sides had two big chances each and Leeds actually finished the game with a higher xG of 1.44, compared to the away side's 0.91.

Why Nico Elvedi's performance should be commended

Some of Leeds' players were very unfortunate to not be on a winning team, and Nico Elvedi was one of them.

No player completed more passes than the Leeds defender, who made 75 out of the 82 passes he attempted, with an accuracy of 91 per cent.

Elvedi also won eight of the 11 duels he contended, winning both of this ground duels and 66 per cent of his nine aerial duels.

No Leeds player completed more defensive actions than the Swiss international, who made six throughout the game.

What about Dominic Calvert-Lewin's stats?

Leeds' goalscoring hero was at it once more this weekend in order to prevent the Whites losing to their big rivals.

Calvert-Lewin's xG of 0.60 was only bettered by Mbeumo's 0.63, with the Leeds striker having three shots at goal.

His only shot on target resulted in a goal when he beautifully brought down Tarik Muharemovic's glancing header in the box to slot the ball past Lemmens in the Man United goal.

Calvert-Lewin was involved in 13 aerial duels, winning seven of them; no player was more successful in the air on Sunday than the England international.

Who didn't perform well?

It was a rare off-day for Gabriel Gudmundsson, according to the stats.

The Swedish left-back had very little effect on the wing and could have been sent off in the first half when he escaped with a booking for a nasty challenge on Andrey Santos.

Gudmundsson only completed 10 passes despite playing the entire game at Elland Road, with an accuracy of 77 per cent.

For comparison, no Leeds starter made fewer passes than him in what was an anonymous display against Man United.

On top of his lack of involvement, Gudmundsson lost possession 14 times, ranking him sixth out of Leeds' players despite him not having much time on the ball.
