Leeds United fans might not have to leave the comfort of their homes on Saturday with it looking possible that their Championship clash with Derby County will be postponed.

Storm Darragh is currently battering the country with severe weather warnings in place in various regions.

As reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds is being hit by "heavy rain and high winds" with some areas being hit by floods.

Leeds' Christmas market will be closed throughout Saturday (7 December) with a yellow weather warning issued by the Met Office.

Winds are set to go over 50mph with the YEP reporting that residents have been told the weather poses a "danger to life".

Will Leeds v Derby be postponed?

As a result, it's hard to see how local officials - and the EFL - will be able to allow Leeds' match against Derby to take place with well over 30,000 people set to descend upon Elland Road ahead of a 12:30pm kick-off.

Leeds United are planning on redeveloping Elland Road.

Luckily for the away fans, they won't have too far to travel from Derby. It's not as though Plymouth fans will be on their way up to West Yorkshire on Saturday

Plymouth's clash with Oxford United on the south coast has already been postponed due to the weather with their Safety Advisory Group calling that game off 24 hours in advance.

Leeds might follow suit. But, then again, the game is due to be aired live on Sky Sports and there always seems to be more hesitance when it comes to calling those games off.
