Leeds United wanted Nohan Kenneh to stay before he signed for Hibs
Leeds United reportedly wanted Nohan Kenneh to stay at the club ahead of his move to Scottish side Hibernian.
According to Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Graham Smyth, the youngster saw better chances of playing time at the Scottish club.
Hibs made an official announcement on Monday [May 23] that he has left Elland Road to join them ahead of next season.
Via his personal Twitter account, Smyth wrote, "Leeds United wanted to keep him. Kenneh evidently sees a better chance of playing elsewhere. By all accounts a very good lad, has worked his socks off for his education as well as his football."
Fair enough
Kenneh needed to look out for himself and he felt that this was the best case scenario.
He has been named on the Leeds bench 14 times, but is still to make a senior appearance for the club.
Given the changes at the club over the course of the season and the number of youngsters handed their debuts, he would've been gutted to not be one of them.
The Whites would've loved to have the midfielder on their books for longer, but he possibly thought that a move away from the club would be ideal.
Only time will tell whether or not he made the right decision but playing time is guaranteed to be more in Scotland than in Yorkshire.
