Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen has now all but completed his transfer to AS Roma and could be shown to the Giallorossi fans today (14 July), according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Serie A giants have long been targeting fellow Elland Road defender who only joined Leeds last summer, signed by former manager Jesse Marsch for a fee of around £10m [Sky Sports, 8 June].

However, the Danish international now looks set to depart following the club's relegation to the Championship, with Di Marzio taking to his personal Twitter account (14 July) to report the defender will now undergo a medical ahead of his loan move.

And according to Di Marzio, writing on his website (13 July), Kristensen could well be unveiled on Friday with the Dane expected to sign his new contract thereafter.

Another one bites the dust

Following the departures of Robin Koch, Diego Llorente, Tyler Roberts and Brendan Aaronson, it now looks as if another player bitest the dust at Elland Road, with Kristensen now all but confirmed as a new AS Roma player, following Llorente's move there too.

It's a complete turnaround by Kristensen after reportedly giving assurances that he wanted to remain at Elland Road after their disappointing relegation from the Premier League.

The Danish defender was actually one of the few players that pulled his finger out and worked hard in an otherwise disastrous campaign for the Whites where he notched three Premier League goals and an assist in 26 games.

Where this loan transfer leaves Leeds United in the transfer market now, having to find a potential replacement is certainly a worry as they would have had plans for the 25-year-old to remain a key part of the Championship aspirations.

Will Kristensen's move to Elland Road now mean that exit-linked Cody Drameh will be forced to remain at the club for the new campaign? It certainly seems so, because given the slow pace of their window signings right now, Farke simply cannot afford to lose another full-back.
