Leeds United pushed hard for the signing of Jorgen Strand Larsen in the winter window.

Off the back of their comfortable FA Cup victory against Norwich, Leeds return to Premier League action this weekend to take on Crystal Palace in what would be a vital encounter in the relegation battle.

A defeat for the Whites could see them drop into the bottom three depending on results elsewhere, while a win could see them move six points clear.

However, if Leeds are to beat Crystal Palace this weekend, they will have to subdue the threat posed by Strand Larsen, and having been heavily linked with him in January, they should know how to.

When Leeds were linked with Strand Larsen, many looked at the fact that he had scored just one Premier League goal all season for Wolves.

That made the £48million fee paid by Palace seem rather steep, but his form since his move to Selhurst Park has showcased why they paid the money they did, and how it could come back to bite the Whites.

In his first 22 games in the Premier League this season, Strand Larsen converted just 4.8 per cent of the shots he had taken, with it coming out as an average of one goal every 1405 minutes.

But since his move to Palace, that has improved massively, with the Norwegian now having a 27.3 conversion rate, and averaging a goal every 136 minutes.

The 26-year-old also registered an assist in their last outing against Tottenham, taking him to four goal involvements in seven appearances for his new club.

And that is the level of form Leeds will have to contend with this weekend if they are to secure victory.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin's past should give Leeds hope

While the Whites will need to be aware of the threat posed by Strand Larsen, they must also take advantage of the record Dominic Calvert-Lewin has against the Eagles.

The Englishman has scored seven goals against Palace throughout his career, which is the most he has managed against any single club.

Calvert-Lewin scored a brace for Leeds in the reverse fixture back in December, but has managed just three goals since then.
