Leeds United are keen on securing the services of Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao in the summer transfer window.

Dr Rajpal Brar, an injury expert, has issued a verdict on a setback he sustained on 11 July, which has kept him out of pre-season action.

He faces a recovery period of several weeks and will be missing the start of the upcoming season.

Leeds United to weigh risk/reward before signing Paixao

The Whites will be going ahead with the signing of the Brazil international if they feel his current injury does not have long-term ramifications, according to Dr Brar.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Dr Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and a Sports Scientist, said about Paixao: "Leeds may take a closer look at his recent muscular injuries, particularly if his recent injury on 11 July is related to his previously disclosed thigh or hamstring injuries.

"If it does not seem to have long-term ramifications, they would likely go ahead with it, weighing the risk/reward.

"However, they will carefully assess it before green-lighting it."

Daniel Farke can get the best out of Paixao at Elland Road

Despite Paixao's recent muscle injury, his potential signing could be transformative for Leeds United, potentially determining their Premier League survival.

The 25-year-old Feyenoord winger, with 18 goals and 19 assists last season, brings explosive dribbling, versatility and a Raphinha-esque flair that could replace Manor Solomon.

His proven Eredivisie and Champions League output, including set-piece prowess, addresses the Elland Road outfit's need for a dynamic final-third threat.

Daniel Farke, experienced in nurturing attacking talent, can maximise the Brazilian's quick footwork and lethal shot, integrating him with new signings like Gabriel Gudmundsson.

Even with a short-term recovery, his youth and quality could provide the x-factor to elevate Leeds’ attack, ensuring they avoid relegation
