Wilfried Gnonto has once again been linked with a move away from Leeds United but the club may have already found a replacement.

According to HITC [26 June], Crystal Palace are interested in signing Italian winger Gnonto following his sensational season at Elland Road, with Michael Olise poised to leave Selhurst Park this summer for Bayern Munich.

Gnonto, after a difficult start to the campaign, became a very important part of Daniel Farke's squad, notching eight goals and two assists as Leeds narrowly missed out on promotion.

Due to another season in the Championship, many of the club's best stars are being linked with moves away. However, it may not be such a big blow as first thought, with the Whites already linked with a possible replacement.

FC Basel's Liam Millar, who spent last season on loan with Preston, is being tracked by Leeds this summer, with his transfer out of Switzerland said to be a "sure thing" [The Athletic].

Leeds United to replace Wilfried Gnonto with Liam Millar

While the 24-year-old Canadian is predominantly a left-winger or left-sided midfielder, his versatility has seen him be deployed on the right flank on multiple occasions.

Millar is also capable of deputising at centre-forward, which could be a huge plus to Farke if Leeds are to secure the player's signature in the summer transfer window.

Of course, losing Gnonto to Palace would leave the manager without a great source of goal contributions, but Millar was able to notch five goals and five assists from left-midfield last term at Deepdale Stadium.

The likes of Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Joel Piroe were all very fluid in attack, sometimes changing positions during a match, which Millar would clearly fit seamlessly into.

If Gnonto were to leave the club this summer, the Basel loan star is certainly not a bad option to replace him, but only if the price is right.
