Leeds United: Tim Sherwood wowed by Crysencio Summerville after what he's done at Elland Road

Tim Sherwood has been awestruck by the performances of forward Crysencio Summerville for Leeds United this season.

Speaking on talkSPORT on Thursday (29 February), host Alan Brazil said Italian international Willy Gnonto has been lively for the Whites recently after earning his place back in the starting lineup at Elland Road.

But Sherwood insisted that Summerville is "the difference" for Daniel Farke's side as he believes the 22-year-old Dutchman is a "top-drawer player" after putting in some stunning displays in their bid for promotion so far during this campaign.

"Gnonto is lively at the moment, isn't he?" asked Brazil.

"Yeah, Summerville is the difference, though," said Sherwood. "He's a top-drawer player."

It can't be understated how important Summerville is to Leeds' hopes of securing an instant return to the Premier League this season.

The winger has been in fine form after scoring 16 goals and laying on nine assists in 34 appearances during this campaign.

The Whites did well to keep hold of the Dutchman during the January transfer window after a number of clubs were reportedly interested in signing him.

Farke will know that if Summerville is to stay at the club, then his side will simply have to be playing in the Premier League next season after showing he's far too good for the Championship.

But the German will be looking for his star man to continue delivering over the next few months as his input will be invaluable in ensuring top-flight football is being played at Elland Road once August comes around.
