Leeds United target Nicolas Tagliafico appears set to leave Ajax this summer and is reportedly keen on moving to the Premier League.

According to Telegraaf journalist Mike Verweij, Lyon are also keen on signing him and know that it will cost around £3.5million to sign him.

However, with him wanting to move to England, Leeds could up the ante and offer Ajax £4million along with better personal terms to convince him to move to Elland Road.

Via Twitter, Verweij wrote, "Lyon wants Tagliafico. Knows that it costs 4 million euros. Three-year offer. Tagliafico hasn't made a decision yet so no financial agreement between player and club management waits."

Junior Firpo and Stuart Dallas are both set to miss the start of the season due to injuries meaning Leif Davis is the only recognised senior left-back.

Even his future appears to be in doubt and he could very well be on his way out before the season even begins.

This makes signing a new left-back imperative and the Whites need to move soon if the 29-year-old Argentina international is their man as Lyon appear to be closing in.

According to SoccerNews, the Argentina international has been discussed at Leeds even this summer and the club could look to make a move.

Time is of the essence and with Lyon being able to offer him the chance to compete for European football, what Leeds can do is tempt him with more money and give him the opportunity to play in the league of his dreams as he's unlikely to get a move to the English top flight again.
