Leeds United could be fired to the next level if they bring in a quality striker in the January transfer window and must pursue Boulaye Dia.

According to Italian media outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport on 2 November, the Whites will have to beat West Ham and Nottingham Forest to secure the services of the 25-year-old striker.

Having failed to bring in a quality number nine over the summer, Leeds settled for a deadline day move for Willy Gnonto.

Despite being a full Italy international, the teenager has not yet started a game for the Whites and only recently made his debut when he came off the bench against Liverpool.

Patrick Bamford has struggled in front of goal all season and has failed to find the back of the net even once despite having an xG of 4.29.

These are worrying numbers as the team has been creating the chances but they're not putting them into the net - which has seen them drop down in the table.

To solve this issue and go to the next level, Dia will be an incredible signing and he's extremely good at one thing Bamford isn't - scoring goals.

This season, he's scored five in 11 games and has also provided two assists and has been overperforming his xG by 1.42.

In 2020/21, he had an exceptional goal scoring season as he bagged 16 goals and earned himself a move to Villarreal.

Leeds would certainly benefit from signing him in January and he could guarantee them five to seven goals in the final 15 games which could be crucial in helping them not only save the drop but also push for a top half finish.
