Glenn Murray fears that Leeds United may drop down the leagues once again after their fate was sealed on Sunday, 28 May.

Results elsewhere along with their loss to Spurs confirmed that Leeds will be returning to the Championship after three seasons in the Premier League.

Murray believes that they should have brought in Sean Dyche before he took over at Everton instead of Javi Gracia, who ended up being a bad appointment and they do not have a sporting director in place either after sacking Victor Orta before bringing in Sam Allardyce.

Speaking on Premier League Productions, Murray, a BBC pundit, said (29/05, 21:29), "No manager, no sporting director and the owner wants to sell. It's a club in turmoil. I hope they don't fall down the leagues but it can happen given how they've gone.

"They got in the wrong man in charge after Marsch. They had a chance to get in [Sean] Dyche. Why they didn't go and act and get him in? Once he's gone you're looking around to see who's left."

Decisions needed

Leeds need to tackle relegation like the future of the club is at stake, because in some ways, it actually is.

Big clubs have gotten relegated and have not bounced right back up and that's seen financial turmoil and major squad overhauls.

Few players leaving is fine, but if the entire team needs to be rebuilt then it's going to be chaotic for the Whites.

Hopefully, the takeover goes ahead and the San Francisco 49ers bring in someone with the expertise to get the club out of this mess.

It's important that they hire a good sporting director and then a manager as Big Sam doesn't seem to be the man for the long term.

Hopefully, they've got plans in mind but they need to act on them soon as players may look to leave the club soon.
