Leeds United are set to appoint Welsh coach Cameron Toshack as Jesse Marsch's assistant, according to Wales Online.

The American has officially taken over at Elland Road after Leeds made an official announcement on Monday.

Toshack, who has managed Swansea's youth teams in the past, will now work as the number two for a Premier League manager.

Good choice?

The Welshman does not really have any top-flight experience so it's hard to make a like-for-like comparison.

It would've been easier, if like Marsch, he was coach in a major league, but that has not been the case.

However, if one looks at his record as coach for Swansea's youth sides, then it does make for good reading.

He played a key role for the Swans' academy and led the club's under-23s to a stunning league and cup double.

Given how many youngsters Leeds have used this season, his experience of working with teenagers and moulding them into senior players may come in handy.

Marsch clearly must have seen something in him to bring him to the club and now the onus is on the American-Welsh duo to deliver.

Succeeding Bielsa was never going to be easy and the assumption was that it would always be at the end of a season.

Taking over midway with a relegation battle on the head is never an ideal scenario but that's life as a Premier League manager.
