Leeds United will likely save some costs after recent staff change announcements at Elland Road, Dan Plumley has said.

It was confirmed recently that Gretar Steinsson and Jordan Miles have left their roles at the club, with Alex Davies and Adam Underwood promoted from within.

Plumley, a football finance expert, admits that Leeds have likely saved costs despite expected pay rises for the likes of Davies and Underwood moving up at Elland Road.

"Two slightly different scenarios isn't it," he exclusively told MOT Leeds News.

"Steinsson is moving almost in-house up to the group structure of the football enterprises of the 49ers, so he'll still be heavily involved in Leeds United, but probably pay-roll wise, he will be on a different one that will save a little bit for the club.

"With Miles, that is like a transfer out in want of a better term, so that's a different opportunity and will save a bit on the cost if you can do that in-house.

"There will still be a promotion upwards so some salary uplift for those picking up the roles, but overall, you're probably looking at a slight cost saving there with how things have played out."

Paraag Marathe was clearly impressed by the work of Steinsson, who is now in The 49ers global operation, likely still involved at Leeds in smaller quantities.

Davies and Underwood have been around the club and will know it inside and out, with that continuity crucial in the scouting and transfer network moving forward.
