Leeds United beat Wolves 3-1 on Saturday to claim their first away win of the Premier League season and send their travelling supporters into raptures.

The Whites claimed an impressive victory at Molineux thanks to first-half goals from Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Anton Stach and Noah Okafor.

It was arguably a perfect day for Leeds boss Daniel Farke. All three goal scorers were summer signings, notching their first goal for the Whites.

Calvert-Lewin scored a fantastic header and put in an all-action performance up front, justifying Farke's decision to sign him.

The win puts Leeds on seven points from their opening five games, leaving them well clear of the Premier League relegation places.

Daniel Farke offers Leeds squad an extra day off after win against Wolves

There was plenty for the Leeds players to be happy about once the final whistle sounded at Molineux.

The team had put in a solid defensive display again, while their first-half strikes will calm any remaining fears about their attacking prowess.

Reporting from Molineux on Saturday, The Athletic journalist Beren Cross revealed that he heard chants of "Two days off" from the away dressing room shortly after the players had left the pitch.

These were followed by loud cheers as Farke seemingly granted them their request.

Moments later, Ao Tanaka was the first to emerge for his warm down, and he confirmed that Leeds would have Sunday and Monday to do as they wish.

Leeds are showing the team spirit required to survive in the Premier League

There were a few stories suggesting disharmony at Leeds United during the summer.

  • Daniel Farke's position seemed uncertain for a while, with many fans wanting him sacked
  • There were several stories about star players wanting to leave and unwanted players refusing to go
  • Jack Harrison was getting booed by his own supporters after returning from a loan spell.

You could have been forgiving for forgetting that his team had just been promoted to the Premier League as champions.

However, with all the drama of the transfer window now in the past, it seems clear that Leeds have a united dressing room.

It's not just positive player interviews and stories of post-match celebrations. The Leeds players are all running through brick walls to help out their teammates.

That is the minimum standard required to achieve survival in the Premier League. Farke has added a touch of proven quality to his squad on top of that. It's all adding together to suggest that Leeds could be in for a memorable season.
