Leeds United release 'Perfect' Red Bull announcement at Elland Road
Paul Robinson has praised the timing of Red Bull's investment announcement at Leeds United after Daniel Farke's side missed out on promotion.
A single Adam Armstrong goal saw Leeds lose 1-0 in the Championship play-off final on Sunday 26 May, with the club announcing just four days later that Red Bull would be the shirt sponsor for next season.
As minority shareholders at Elland Road, the global soft drink company will have little influence on decisions but will add some much-needed investment into the club, which Robinson is thrilled about.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, he said: "Any financial boost or incentive is good. With a world-renowned company the size of Red Bull coming into the club, not just the cash injection, as we don't know how big the stake is, being the shirt sponsor next season will be a big boost.
"To have a company like that, who are experienced in running top-flight football clubs and other sports too, looking at how successful they are in motor racing, to have another arm, another branch of investment of that level can only be good for the club.
"Any type of investment that comes into the club you would generally say is good, but looking at other clubs, investment hasn't been that good. But a company with structure and solidity like Red Bull are coming in for the right reasons.
"You're not getting the unknown, you're not getting an owner that's coming and waving millions around. You're getting a well-renowned, structured company. I just think it's a really good step for the club, especially with everyone downbeat after the play-off final.
"The timing of the announcement was perfect. I think it was a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel. With this type of investment, it is only going to boost the club."

As Robinson states, the news could not have come at a better time, helping some to relax after the heartbreak at Wembley Stadium last month.
The club's financial situation was a huge concern if they were unable to secure promotion back to the Premier League this season, though Red Bull's investment will certainly help to a degree.
Some star players will still be likely to depart Elland Road, but the situation surrounding money and players will not be as dire after the cash injection from the global brand.
