Leeds United recruitment chiefs have held talks in Germany while the squad prepares for the new season, according to Joe Donnohue.

The Yorkshire Evening Post journalist reported this via the newspaper's website on 25 July after the Whites had just had a bid rejected for Dejan Ljubicic.

Members of the Leeds recruitment hierarchy have been with the squad in Germany and have seemingly been plotting their next moves prior to the start of the 2024/25 season.

Leeds United need to add more players to their squad

Daniel Farke's men have undergone plenty of change this summer with the transfer window having been open for some time now.

The club have seen the likes of Archie Gray and Glen Kamara depart, while Joe Rothwell and Joe Rodon have both been added.

Indeed, the addition of the previously mentioned two will no doubt help the West Yorkshire outfit in their pursuit for Premier League promotion but if they want to guarantee it, they'll need to add more players to their ranks.

The club's star players have been consistently linked with moves away this summer and although it's not always the best idea to prepare for things that haven't happened, links to more arrivals would no doubt help ease the minds of fans.

Farke has already missed out on Vaclav Cerny [iSport, 25 July] to Rangers and could yet lose out on their pursuit of Ljubicic.

As nothing is yet concrete and the start of the Championship season is less than a month away, alarm bells will start to ring if the Whites don't start to add extra firepower to their ranks soon.
