Leeds United prepare for Struijk departure amid transfer development

Leeds United may be preparing for life without Pascal Struijk after news emerged claiming the Whites want to sign Ben Godfrey.

Struijk has been an exceptional performer for the Whites this season with his performances earning him interest from Tottenham (Leeds United News).

It seems unlikely that Leeds would sanction his exit in January, although recent links to Ben Godfrey (TBR) could suggest his departure is being considered at Elland Road.

Godfrey is unlikely to join Leeds in January and it is believed to only be a possibility if the club achieves promotion this season but the links certainly beg the question of whether he could be seen as a replacement for Struijk.

Struijk's links to Tottenham aren't the first signs of an exit and certainly won't be the last with several Whites players impressing in the Championship.

The January transfer window must be used to strengthen the squad and weakening it simply cannot be an option if the club have ambition.

If Leeds were to sanction the sale of any of their key players, it would leave a massive dent in their promotion hopes in a season where they have every chance of a Premier League return.

Leeds must hold strong when inevitably faced with interest from clubs higher up the footballing food chain.
