Richard Keys not happy with what Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison did for Everton

Leeds United loanee Jack Harrison was heavily criticised by Richard Keys for his part in the goal conceded by Everton in their 1-1 draw with Brighton and Hove Albion.

Brighton hit back in the closing stages of the Premier League contest at Goodison Park through an unfortunate Ashley Young own goal.

While Young was the player left with egg on his face, Keys felt Harrison should have done more to deal with the initial danger from Kaoru Mitoma.

Speaking on beIN Sports' live coverage of the match [4 November, 17:17], Keys said: "It's too easy.

"Get in his face and stop the cross. Look."

Judging by the footage of the own goal, Harrison could indeed have done more to cut out the cross from Mitoma that deflected in off Young's knee.

The winger was turned inside out by opposite number Mitoma as Everton failed to cling onto the early lead given to them by Vitaliy Mykolenko in Saturday's (4 November) showdown.

However, questions need to be asked as to why Young was not closer to Mitoma in the first place, instead leaving Harrison to track the run while the full-back was positioned centrally.

Either way, Everton manager Sean Dyche will no doubt be having a word with Harrison about his defensive duties.

By all accounts, the 26-year-old has instantly become a fan favourite at Goodison Park thanks to his two assists and a goal in five league outings, so he will no doubt put this behind him and move on.
