Leeds United Under-18s have confirmed that their clash against Blackburn Rovers has been postponed.

The Whites' youth side confirmed early on Saturday (11 January) that their Under-18s Premier League clash has been called off due to a frozen pitch.

The Leeds academy side were set to travel to the Blackburn Rovers training ground this afternoon but will now have to wait until their next league match against Manchester City (25 January).

Leeds United v Blackburn Rovers U18s clash postponed

Given how poor the weather has been across the UK in recent weeks, this update for the Under-18s side won't come as a surprise to anyone.

It does come as a blow to the youth team who will have to wait another two weeks until their next U18s Premier League fixture.

With that, there isn't much that can be done to contend with a frozen pitch as temperatures continue to fall below zero in January.

Given that this youth fixture has been cancelled, fans will be hoping that the first team's FA Cup clash against Harrogate isn't called off as well.

The Elland Road pitch is unlikely to be affected by the cold, especially with kick-off coming as late as 5:45pm on Saturday.

Daniel Farke will be hoping for a positive result to maintain momentum in their race for Championship promotion, with a clash against Sheffield Wednesday coming up.
