Leeds United, Brighton and Brentford have enquired about the availability of Fiorentina defender Igor Julio in the January transfer window.

According to Firenze Viola [24 January], the Serie A club value the 24-year-old Brazilian defender at £17.6million.

Barring the aforementioned English teams, he's also got suitors in Spain, with Sevilla, Real Betis and Atletico Madrid keeping tabs on him.

Another Red Bull prospect

Jesse Marsch has made it a feature of his time at Leeds to sign players that are part of the Red Bull group.

While Julio isn't currently at a club under the umbrella, he spent his youth days at Red Bull Brasil before he moved to RB Salzburg.

The 24-year-old is known for his ability to read the game and has been a regular at two Austrian clubs before he moved to Italy and play for SPAL.

Fiorentina brought him on for loan in 2020-21 and were left impressed that they ended up signing him permanently and could now make good money from his sale.

He is used to playing in a system that plays out from the back and applies a counter press when out of possession and Marsch would surely fancy having him at the club.

However, given the money Leeds have spent this month, there's a very good chance that they wait until the summer before signing a new centre-back.
