It’s been a tough 2020 but the single scariest moment was the first quarter of the game against Man City. Rodrigo will be the saviour this season.

Leeds United loanee Alfie McCalmont continues to impress on loan with Oldham Athletic, and he scored his sixth goal of the season for the League Two side last night.

Oldham drew 1-1 with Scunthorpe, with McCalmont scoring the opening goal of the game early in the second half.

They held onto the lead until the 93rd minute – after McCalmont had been taken off the pitch.

Oldham are struggling at the wrong end of the table in 17th but McCalmont has been a bright spark for them.

His latest goal was a fine strike from outside the box, as captured on Twitter by one Leeds fan.

20-year-old McCalmont has made 24 appearances in League Two for Oldham this season and started 21 of them.

Solution for big Leeds problem?

McCalmont was employed as a deeper-lying midfielder at Leeds, more in the Kalvin Phillips role.

At Oldham, he's been given the freedom to get forward more, playing a role more similar to that of Mateusz Klich.

It seems that he's thriving with his new offensive role and this will send a big message to Marcelo Bielsa.

Leeds are short in midfield.

Klich seems to be suffering from fatigue and his performances have dipped alarmingly this season.

Leeds have also suffered badly when Kalvin Phillips has been out.

We think midfield is going to be a real focus for transfers this season and McCalmont will be hoping that his impressive loan spell and versatility in the middle can earn him a place in the Leeds squad.

He's already made two senior appearances for the club under Bielsa and will be hoping that next season could be the time that he breaks into the squad.

It's a big step up for him but he signed a new four-year contract at Leeds last August which shows the club have high hopes for him in the future.

Could that be as a number eight at Elland Road?
